![]() ![]() If somehow my MacBook Pro, Time Capsule, and external drive got destroyed, lost or stolen, I would at least still have my data secure online. This will be my 3rd level of backing up my data and is there in case of something like fire/theft/loss. It uses incremental backups to reduce file size and upload time, but it inspects the metadata of each filerather than the contentto ensure it catches any new changes. ChronoSync is a comprehensive macOS backup and sync app that performs file synchronization, data backup and system bootable backups on your macOS computer. But, I’m wanting to have an online backup with something like Backblaze. ChronoSync offers a range of different methods to back up your Mac: clone it to a bootable external drive, sync files to a separate Mac, or even upload a backup to the cloud. Off-Site Backup - This part of my strategy, I have not yet implemented.I also have “Safety Net” on as just another level of backup. ChronoSync is an application for macOS that is capable of performing data backup, bootable backup and bidirectional file synchronization. It also provides another complete system backup if needed. I just can plug in my drive to almost any Mac and boot it up. This allows me to have 0 downtime if anything were to happen. Bootable Clone Backup - I use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone to an external drive that stays with me in my backpack.Plus have a complete system backup that is native to macOS. Although Bootable Backups of Big Sur are currently not supported, all other ChronoSync operations work well under the new Beta macOS 11. Even to iPads & iPhones using InterConneX License: Demo, 50. Allows me to quickly go back to previous versions of files or get a file I ended up deleting prematurely. A traditional backup stores a copy of every file that has changed since the last backup a bootable clone is a precise snapshot of your startup disk at a specific point in time. ChronoSync can synchronize, backup, and create bootable backups to almost anything you can connect to your Mac: select cloud services, other Macs, NAS drives, external drives, PCs or anything you can mount as a volume. Incremental Backups - I still use Time Machine on Time Capsule at home - It’s simple, automatically runs in the background and provides hourly/daily/weekly backups. ![]()
